Hollywood Holiday Blog Tour – Book excerpt
“Jenny,” he whispered in my ear, crushing me against him. “I can’t do this.”
His words were faint; I was too intent on unbuttoning his pants to hear him. He groaned as I pulled his zipper down. I pressed a kiss to his collarbone, letting his scent, the feel of him, take over.
He startled me, taking my hands in his. “Jenny.”
I looked up at him, stunned by the look on his face. He looked…upset.
He spoke calmly, but his jaw was hard. “Not yet.”
“You don’t want to…” I blinked. “I’m sorry.”
One hand slid through my hair, the other tilted my chin up so I had to look at him. “I want to. Believe me. I’m not sure there’s anything I want to do more than spend the night with you.”
I smiled slightly. “But?”
“I like you.”
I laughed, my breath tight. I knew I looked as confused as I felt.
“Two days ago I didn’t know you. I don’t want to waste time, Jenny.” His hand pressed along the side of my face. “But I don’t want to rush through this, either. I want to enjoy it. Take my time with you. This. Us.”
That sounded good.
But I couldn’t let him know just how good that sounded. So I teased, shakily, “And what if I’m not so sure I want to spend time with you? What if I just want a night of hot sex?”
His smile grew, his jaw hardened, and one eyebrow shot up. “One night is not going to be enough. I can promise you that.” His lips found mine again, parting my lips and slipping his tongue inside so quickly I swayed into him.
