Blog Tour „Ember”: Guest Post
Music and words collide. The Ember series…
I am often asked which songs in the Ember soundtrack inspire me most, and I find it one of the hardest questions to answer. I love them all! 🙂 But here is my top 5 songs.
Oasis – “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” (Chapter: Prologue)
This song is one of my favorite songs, period. It was the song that inspired the whole storyline and characters of Ember. It sets the tone of what’s ahead for the reader…emotions, heartache and love.
Tokio Hotel – “Monsoon” (Chapter 8: Dark Skies)
The mood of this song is perfect for the secrets and twists of the chapter. It really helped me write the chapter too. This definitely falls under Team Asia! 🙂
Zero 7 – “Destiny” (Chapter 20: Destiny)
A perfect song for the perfect romantic date between Max and Samantha. It’s sexy, haunting and filled with hope. I love this song, completely. Go Team Sam! 😉
Kerli – “Love Is Dead” (Chapter 32: Ashes)
The title says it all. This chapter and song change everything in the story. It was one of the first chapters I wrote. The song inspired it completely. I love Kerli as an artist and a storyteller. This song proves how powerful music can be.
Muse – “Starlight” (Chapter 34: Hope)
Ember ends with hope. There is plenty of heartache and twists, but I really wanted the reader to feel like there was a light ahead, a new adventure. The start of an epic journey that would tie my three main characters together forever. Muse is also one of my favorite bands. Their music is used in all my books.
Thanks for taking a moment to learn about the sounds of Ember. Maybe next time we can discuss the top 5 songs from Downpour. Thank you for having me on your page. It was so much fun! ~ M
